Students on the beach

High School Programs

In contrast to the typical international high school program, which features a whirlwind of destinations and activities and significant time on the bus, DGE offers a unique experience.

We focus on one location for an extended period, so students get a real understanding of life in another country in addition to focused learning opportunities.

Students who travel to Ireland with DGE will be based in Dingle for the majority of the trip (with day trips to attractions like the Cliffs of Moher, Killarney or Blarney Castle).

There is plenty for students to see and do in Dingle, including Slea Head drive, the Blasket Islands and ancient historical sites, traditional music and dancing sessions, and activities such as horse riding, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding and whale and dolphin  watching.

But the key advantage to a Dingle-based program is that students can focus. Time usually spent on buses will be spent on classes in subjects such as Irish history, anthropology or music. Students will have  time to learn Irish dancing or participate in  traditional singing sessions. They will be immersed, and they will be learning, while also getting all the excitement and fun of foreign travel.

DGE will make sure high school students are well cared for; as in addition to its beauty, history and culture; Dingle town is small, peaceful and very safe.

And of course, if group leaders want to base some of their trip time in another part of Ireland, we are happy to discuss options and work with them to accommodate this.
