Seán Pól and Lenka started DGE in 2021 because they are both passionate about giving American students and faculty an opportunity to broaden their academic curriculum with a focused learning experience in Dingle, Ireland.
They believe Dingle is one of the best locations in the world to operate their business, as it combines beauty, history and culture with a lively arts and activities scene. Dingle is also a very welcoming and safe environment.
Seán Pól was born on the Dingle peninsula where his family have been farming since the 17th century. He is a native Irish speaker, a graduate of Munster Technology University and University College Cork, holding an MA in Business and E-Commerce. Seán Pól has been working with American students in Dingle as Campus Director for an American university from 2005 to 2021.
Lenka is from Slovakia and came to Dingle in 2007 for a short holiday but fell in love with Dingle and stayed. She is a graduate of Munster Technology University and holds a BA (Hons) in Creative Digital Media. Lenka has immersed herself fully in the Irish culture, and is currently studying the Irish language.
Seán Pól and Lenka married in 2013, and they have two children, Emma and Benjamin. They completed their family by adopting Stella (the dog) in 2021.
Family is their top priority, and they consider the students and faculty that come to Dingle on a DGE program to be part of their extended family.
They treat their clients as they’d like their own family to be treated were they on a study abroad program: with respect, kindness, empathy and equality.
