Day by Day Itinerary
Dingle, Ireland
Day 1 - Welcome to Dingle
We’ll pick up guests arriving at Shannon airport for transport back to Dingle. Then we’ll rendezvous with the entire group at 1 p.m. at Benner’s Hotel for lunch. After that we’ll take a short orientation walk around Dingle town. Dinner and a drinks reception in the evening. We’ll go out for a night-cap and traditional Irish music session in a local pub to complete your Introduction to Dingle.

Day 2 - Local History & Folklore
Optional Mass in the morning in Saint Mary’s Church, Dingle or take the morning off to relax. In the afternoon, meet with a local historian and folklorist, who will give you a talk on the history and folklore of the Dingle Peninsula. We will then go for a short walk in Dingle town to some of the sites mentioned. Evening supper in local pub followed by a music session.

Day 3 - Slea Head Drive & The Wild Atlantic Way
Today you are going to experience one of the most stunning coastal routes in the world: Slea Head Drive. Ancient sites, cosy villages, beautiful beaches and breath-taking scenery await. You may even get a chance to hold a baby lamb.
You will hear and see how people lived thousands of years ago, and how the locals live today.
One of highlights is a visit to The Great Blasket Centre, a fascinating heritage centre and museum that honours the unique community who lived on the remote Blasket Island until their evacuation in 1953. The American connection will be explored. Note: Day 5 will include a visit to the Blasket islands.

Day 4 - A day of music, song & Irish spirituality
Ireland is known as the land of the saints and scholars.
This morning you will hear about Ireland’s long history of spirituality. We will also explore the link between nature and rituals with the Dingle Druid. We will walk to the Diseart Centre of Irish Spirituality and Culture in Dingle town, where you’ll see the priceless Harry Clarke stained glass windows and learn the fascinating history of the Presentation Sisters Order.
The afternoon is filled with music, songs and stories with a number of special guests exploring the history and the progression of Irish music and dance. You will enjoy a private concert in front of a roaring peat fire accompanied by a beverage or two.

Day 5 - Blasket Island Visit
Today you will travel to the Blasket islands. On day 3 you learned about the islands and its famous inhabitants at the Great Blasket Centre, today you will get a chance of a life time. You will walk the well worn paths on the island and get a sense of what life was like on this magical place. A onsite talk on the history of the people who lived here will complete this special day.

Day 6 - Falconry, Food & Drink
Dingle is increasingly renowned for its food and this morning you will visit the Dingle Cookery school. Owner and chef Mark Murphy will explore Irish food culture through the lens of local ingredients and the rich history of Irish food dating back 10,000 years.
In the afternoon we’ll visit Dingle Falconry. Located on the water’s edge of Dingle Bay, this is an experience, not a show, where you’ll be able to see, hold, touch, and fly the birds (owl and hawk, falcons, eagle) to your hand. The sights along the waterfront are as incredible as the chance to interact directly with these majestic animals.
As we’ll be passing Dingle Distillery, it would be a shame not to take their tour, which guides you through all aspects of whiskey, gin and vodka production. You will of course get a chance to sample all three if you wish.

Day 7 - Last Day in Dingle
Free day to shop and stroll. We’ll also organise a walk for those interested. Or we can help you book other activities, such as golf, horse-riding, etc. Final dinner this evening.

Day 8 - Dingle to Shannon
After an amazing week, a bus will bring you back to Shannon airport. If you are extending your stay in Ireland, we can help you get to your next location.

Breakfast is provided each morning at Dingle Benners Hotel, there are three group lunches and three group dinners in pubs and restaurants in addition to some local tasty snacks included in the package.

Seán Pól and Lenka have over 30 years’ experience working with American visitors to Dingle, including university and college students, sports teams on study abroad trips and adults on educational tours.
Dingle is our home and we know it intimately. We are raising our family here, and while you’re with us on our trip we’ll treat you as extended family; which means with respect, empathy and kindness; combined with humour and a sense of fun and adventure.
