Student Experience
At DGE, we’re committed to making sure your time studying abroad is one of most interesting and exciting experiences in your student life. We’ll be with you at every step, as you see new places, meet new people, hear new perspectives and explore another culture from the inside.
On our program, you’ll:
Program
Our programs usually range from 2-5 weeks, and combine classroom learning with complementary on-site excursions and a host of fun, extra-curricular activities (such as group lunches, hill walks, Irish dancing, singing workshops, kayaking and horse riding).
Your academic experience will be enriched with ideas and perspectives you might not be used to hearing, as we bring guest speakers from Ireland into the classroom in addition to your own faculty. We also organize academic-related field trips that will enhance your appreciation of the subject matter.
On a typical day, you’ll:

Location
Dingle is the ideal location for foreign study. It’s one of the most beautiful places in the world, surrounded by sea and mountains. It’s also one of the most welcoming places in the world, with a history of hosting American students in a lively, safe environment. You’ll never run out of things to do while you’re in Dingle.
Dingle is also in the Gaeltacht, which means it’s an Irish-speaking part of the country. You’ll hear Irish spoken every day, and might even pick up the cúpla focal yourself!

Accommodation
You’ll be staying in wonderful cottages right in Dingle town, which can accommodate up to seven students.

Personal Connection
Seán Pól and Lenka believe in treating our visitors as family, and will support you for your entire trip. We’ll be on hand for day-to-day questions and will handle any issues or problems that arise with efficiency and speed. We are only 15 minutes away, day or night.
And we know from experience that you’ll soon find an additional family in the friends you’ll make on the program, even if you don’t know anyone in your group at the start.
We’ll be with you on your excursions and will help you navigate the town, the peninsula, Irish culture and the Irish language. We often bring our own family (son, daughter and dog!) to group dinners and activities.
But we also give you plenty of space to interact with your fellow students, faculty, guests and the people you meet in Dingle. We think study abroad is a life-changing event, where you can have so many positive experiences and make friends and connections that last a lifetime.
